Minimalist Arduino Kits Are Out!
We have finished making and assembling the Minimalist Arduino kits. We have a whole page devoted to these little guys, so please have a look:

Those of you who have been anxiously waiting to get your hands on one should come down to our festivities this weekend: Arduino Night, and the monthly Make:SLC Meeting. We’ll be showing them off at both, so feel free to stop by. As always, bring your projects down to show or work on. We hope to see you this Saturday!

Atmega328Ps: Bootloaded. :)
We finally got a couple hours to get the programmer working. Well, it only took a few minutes more to get all 115 Atmega328p’s programmed with the Arduino bootloader. Here’s the pictures.

Alicia working away.

Here’s the first version of our programming / test board. (v1.0) We have several plans to improve on this model, but for now it works great!

Alicia insisted on programming all of them.

Batch 1 completed! For those counting, yes I took 3 before we could take the picture.
Arduino Night Recap
As many of you know, our second weekly Arduino night happened yesterday. It was another great success. We had some new people drop in, and had a generally good time working on projects using Arduinos and other electronics. We’ll be doing it all again next Saturday, so please stop by to check us out. Bring along any projects you’d like to work on or show off, or just come down and see what we’re about.

Moving In
We’re continuing to unpack and organize our considerable pile of electronics and other fun toys. Here’s a picture of some new desks we are moving into. If you squint real close you can also see one of our minimalist Arduinos on a breadboard. We hope to have them ready for mass programming and testing this weekend.

Bulk Arduino Components Arrive!
Still waiting on a couple more parts and we can start putting the kits together but this is about 90% of what we need. For those wondering, there are enough components here to build 100+ Arduino’s! (Plus some extra stuff for other projects)

Kits will be offered to the public (without a PCB) in the next couple weeks. These will not replace a standard Arduino, and will not include a PCB or a programmer (USB connection). These are intended for advanced users who wish to build permanent circuits from their projects.
For those interested, the one-off kits will be available in the next couple weeks.
The final cost will be $7.50 + s/h. Parts list below:
qty part
(1) ATMEGA328P-PU with Arduino Bootloader
(1) 28-Pin DIP Socket
(1) LM7805CT 1A 5V Positive Voltage Regulator
(1) 16.0MHz Clock Crystal
(2) 22pf Capacitor
(2) 10uF Capacitor
(3) 10k Ohm Resistor
(2) 150 Ohm Resistor
(2) Green 3mm LED
(1) Wiring Diagram / Instructions

Arduino Night Aftermath – 1.16.2010
Arduino night came and went. So fast in fact that I forgot to take pictures until it was over!
Here’s a couple pictures of the aftermath. Thanks again to the 6-8 people that showed up. We promise to be a little more organized next week!

Starting to Organize
After all that painting/waiting we were able to start moving things in. We have a lot to do, but it feels great to be this far.

Caution: Wet Paint!
Here’s some pictures from a couple days ago on the progress of the painting. Enjoy!
(Note: we just have the primer coats down, I will post updates on the completed painting after the weekend)
